Cardiff Metropolitan University (The Sustainable & Resilient Built Environment group), partners in the Home Grown Homes Project, are recruiting a research assistant to undertake building performance assessment during the design, manufacture/construction and operation of timber based buildings. The job holder will be expected to carry out assessments in the areas of thermal, acoustic and fire (TaF) performance, occupant health and well being.
The Home Grown Homes project is aiming to create high performance, healthy and affordable new homes from Welsh timber supply chains. The project is led by Woodknowledge Wales and is in collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University, BM Trada and Coed Cymru, for Powys County Council. The project is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development
The project is working with housing case studies across Wales in both the public and private sector. The SuRBe group are leading on the More and Better Homes from Wood work package (WP3) and some of this work was presented at WoodBuild 2018. The Research Assistant will contribute to work package three.
Starting salary for the post: £30,395.
