I am an construction engineer, who strongly supports the concept of wooden made sustainability. Professionally a thermal modeler engineer and very passionate about research, since June 2018 I have been studying to achieve a doctoral degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University. The project I have will challenge the knowledge of the timber supply chain and identify incentives to support the use of wood within the slow changing construction sector.

My project is funded through Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships (KESS 2) supported by European Social Funds (ESF) through the Welsh Government. The project will push the boundaries of offsite timber manufacturing typologies moving toward high performance buildings and at the same time demonstrating the real opportunity for Welsh forests.  Fundamental is the collaboration and support given by WoodKnowledge Wales, who are recognized as an essential partner in the research, contributing actively and suggesting the right directions for the success of the project.

I hope to raise the bar to actual performance-based concept of sustainability, catalysing a new culture that could bring to the development of a common consciousness on wood, necessary to achieve not only high performing building but also low embodied carbon.
