Expanding reciprocal membership agreements with the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) will further strengthen and align relationships.

Woodknowledge Wales is pleased to announce a new reciprocal membership agreement with the BWF (British Woodworking Federation). This partnership will allow the two organisations to align their current and future strategies to draw upon expertise and provide guidance in their respective areas of expertise and market research.
Under this agreement, Woodknowledge Wales and the BWF have each become members of one another’s organisations, recognising our shared commitment to identify opportunities to benefit the woodworking, joinery and wood processing sectors across the UK. Members of both organisations will benefit from shared learning, joint communications, and greater visibility across networks.
While contra-membership provides enhanced opportunities to connect, learn, and collaborate across organisations, it does not grant full direct membership benefits. Certain elements—such as voting rights, exclusive training discounts, or access to restricted member-only resources—remain available only to direct members of each organisation.
“This agreement allows us to come together with the BWF and collaborate for a better future in the woodworking and joinery sector and in time lead to new opportunities for home-grown timber across the UK,” said Gary Newman, CEO of Woodknowledge Wales. “The BWF are an important voice in the timber sector. We’re connecting our networks to support our members to reach more resources and explore opportunities for collaboration along the joinery value chain.”
The British Woodworking Federation is the trade association for the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry in the UK. They have 500 members drawn from manufacturers, distributers and installers of timber-based products. The federation strives to provide the best possible service for their members and to collaborate effectively with their stakeholders for the good of the timber industry.
We invite all members to explore the work of the BWF to discover new opportunities for learning and collaboration.
