Our Vision

Our vision is the transformation of Wales into a high-value forest nation.

Wales has the potential for substantial expansion of forestry and its wood using industries. Well-conceived forestry provides amenity, mitigates climate change, is good for biodiversity and soil health and helps clean air and water. Wales has land suited for afforestation and a climate suited to growing the trees that industry needs.

Our Values

We are an independent for-public-good Community Benefits Society, governed by a voluntary board. We believe in the creation and sharing of knowledge based upon evidence and science. We believe that the businesses within the forestry and timber ‘ecosystem’ can be better aligned and more purposefully driven to deliver greater social value. We are transparent and collaborative in our approach. We are a change organisation driven by impact rather than income and inspired by the need for dramatic change to our natural and built environments to support rapid decarbonisation.
