THE REGENERATIVE CONSTRUCTION NETWORK
We build with regenerative materials.
To lower carbon. To cut waste.
To work with nature… not against it.
It’s better for people. And the places they live.
ROOT is a network for people who want to build differently:
Using materials that give back more than they take.
We connect clients with an ambition and vision to build regeneratively to a trusted network of suppliers, experts and innovators – all focused on using regenerative materials to deliver low-carbon, high-performance buildings.
We work through live projects… not theory. That means practical support at every stage: from inception, to procurement to delivery. So clients can make confident choices, backed by data and experience.

We are:
Clients.
Developers.
Designers.
Contractors.
Suppliers.
Policy makers.
TOGETHER, WE ARE CHANGING WHAT BUILDING MEANS –
FOR PEOPLE, PLACE AND PLANET.
WHY REGENERATIVE MATERIALS?
Regenerative materials restore nature, not deplete it. They include:
– Bio-based materials like timber, straw, hemp, clay
– Re-claimed or re-used materials like steel, bricks, and fixtures
– Materials that store carbon and build local value.
Used well they support local economies, reduce climate impact, create healthier buildings and help communities thrive.
HOW DOES ROOT WORK?
ROOT is a collaborative network of like-minded construction professionals. We work with real-life projects, such as schools, workplaces and housing, at every stage. We provide custom tailored support and knowledge, backing each project with:
– Local teams and supply chains
– National expertise from our members
– Practical advice on procurement, design and delivery.

FAQs
What are regenerative materials?
They include plant-based materials (timber, straw, hemp) and reclaimed resources (steel, bricks). They’re better for nature and society—and support the Welsh economy.
What are trailblazer projects?
Six local buildings—like schools or offices—where regenerative materials will be used from procurement to handover. They’ll show how change happens in practice.
How do I get involved?
You can join the hub by pledging to support one or more trailblazer projects. You’ll help shape how we build—from early design to on-site delivery.
What are the benefits?
You’ll access expert insight, shape new processes, get recognised publicly, and play an active role in accelerating change.
Who can join?
Anyone involved in the construction ecosystem: architects, engineers, clients, suppliers, contractors, insurers, reclaim specialists, policymakers.
What kinds of events happen?
Monthly peer sessions, project-specific workshops, policy briefings and advocacy, plus annual Root features at industry events.
How does Root help Wales?
By using home-grown and reclaimed materials, Root builds demand for local supply chains and skilled jobs—and supports circular, low-carbon growth.
How did Root begin?
Root was inspired by the Circular Twin and Regenerative Twin projects from Morgan Sindall Construction. They proved the need for on-the-ground action. Root is that action.
