Gary Newman, Chief Executive of Woodknowledge Wales, accepted the Institute of Chartered Foresters’ highest award for his pioneering work in sustainable forestry today.

Today, the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) awarded its prestigious Honorary Fellowship to Gary Newman, recognising his exceptional leadership in advancing sustainable forestry and timber construction in the UK.
Gary who serves as Chief Executive of Woodknowledge Wales, has been a driving force in promoting the use of homegrown timber in construction. His work has significantly influenced the development of low-carbon, climate-resilient building practices, aligning with national goals for net-zero carbon emissions.
The ICF Honorary Fellowship is the highest accolade bestowed by the Institute, reserved for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to forestry and arboriculture.
