Deall Perfformiad Pren Lleol ar gyfer Gweithgynhyrchu Fframiau Pren

May 22, 2026 by admin

Pam mae pren strwythurol lleol yn aml yn cael ei ystyried yn israddol ar gyfer gweithgynhyrchu fframiau pren yng Nghymru ac a oes ffyrdd ymarferol o wella ei sefydlogrwydd, ei gryfder a’i addasrwydd ar gyfer adeiladu fframiau pren?

Crynodeb

Mae angen 14,000 o gartrefi carbon isel newydd y flwyddyn ar Gymru. Ond ar hyn o bryd dim ond ffracsiwn bach iawn o’r deunydd a ddefnyddir i adeiladu fframiau pren sy’n bren strwythurol lleol. Mae’n well gan y rhan fwyaf o wneuthurwyr fframiau pren ddefnyddio pren wedi’i fewnforio oherwydd pryderon ynghylch sefydlogrwydd, ystumio, gradd cryfder a dibynadwyedd y cyflenwad.

This report investigates the characteristics of home-grown timber and the challenges caused by wider growth rings, larger juvenile cores, reaction wood and spiral grain. It explores how growing conditions, silviculture, log selection, cutting patterns, kiln drying and moisture management affect final performance.

Drwy gyfweliadau rhanddeiliaid â choedwigwyr, melinwyr llifio, gweithgynhyrchwyr ac ymchwilwyr, daw’r adroddiad i’r casgliad bod cynhyrchu pren lleol sy’n sefydlog o ran dimensiwn yn bosibl yn dechnegol. Fodd bynnag, mae rhwystrau masnachol, inertia yn y farchnad a diffyg cymhellion ar hyn o bryd yn atal mabwysiadu ehangach.

Mae’r prif argymhellion yn canolbwyntio ar ddull gweithredu integredig “o’r goedwig i’r ffrâm”, gan gynnwys bridio coed yn well, dewis safleoedd a boncyffion yn well, sychu’n well mewn odynau, a chymorth polisi cryfach fel rheolau caffael, cynnydd mewn cyllid a manylebau wedi’u diweddaru.

Mae’r adroddiad yn tynnu sylw at y ffaith bod atebion technegol yn bodoli, ond mae newid go iawn yn gofyn am ddewrder o ran polisi a chynigion gwerth newydd i wneud pren lleol yn ddewis masnachol sy’n ddeniadol i wneuthurwyr fframiau pren.
