Delivered by CATG on site at Glynllifon Campus site, Clynnog Road, Caernarfon LL54 5DU from 01-04 June, this visual strength grading of softwood training course and assessment, is organised by Woodknowledge Wales.
Ideally, delegates should have undergone training or work experience where they have experience of handling and identifying timber and are familiar with grading timber.
On completion assessment at the end of the course delegate will be able to visually grade softwood to BS 4978. This includes identifying species, taking moisture readings, determining knot plots, sizes and types, grade the timber successfully, and complete the additional requirements for storage and record keeping.
Food and accommodation is not provided, although canteen facilities are available on site.
The course will cost £1000 plus VAT per delegate, although businesses based in Wales may be eligible to reclaim 50% of the cost of the course.
